Improvement of Container Logistics Efficiency in China through Legislative Innovations

Container is one of the most important movable transportation tools for the development of modern logistics. However, there still exist a lot of problem about container technical norms, infrastructure standard, information criteria, and coordination with international container regulation, etc. Therefore, it's imperative to reduce modern logistical cost and improve logistical operation efficiency through the development and innovation of legislative innovations of double-stack container, semi-trailer, piggy-back transportation, companied and un-companied transportation. The author established an evolutionary game theory analysis framework and demonstrated that under stricter container legislation regulations, the container enterprises tend to adopt a unified container technical standard and operation rules which in turn, will increase logistics efficiency. The policy implication is that Chinese government should adopt a more up-down compulsory container standard and operation regulations which benefit the transportation and logistics industry as a whole.
