Novel Feeder Pillar Box

Present industrial connections demand an improved and continuous power supply at lowest possible cost and minimum infrastructure cost. A feeder pillar form a critical component of the distribution infrastructure in low voltage segment. In this paper, we discuss a unique feeder pillar concept with technologically advanced features. Among the feature that has been added are online health monitoring, temper- proof, touch proof, reduced losses and 100% accessibility of internal components with a minimalistic footprint. In addition, a unique modular busbar layout has been designed for reduced footprint with excellent heat dissipation and lowest possible components. At the sub-system level, a novel connector has been designed and developed showing exceptional characterization results to have a low contact resistance for reduced losses.
