Design and Development of Intelligent Torsion Pendulum Method for Rotational Inertia Measurement Experiment

Moment of inertia is a measure of inertia when a rigid body rotates. Measuring the moment of inertia of a particular object is of great significance to some research and design work. This paper describes a torsion pendulum device based on 89C51 microcontroller for measuring moment of inertia. 89C51 is used as the control core, and the accurate timing is carried out by using photoelectricity to cooperate with single chip microcomputer. C program is used in the software system, and a variety of friction reduction design, such as changing the surface contact to the line contact, is adopted to improve the measurement accuracy and greatly reduce the error.
