Resources Planning Strategies for Data Center Microgrid Considering Water Footprints

With the Internet wildly used among the world, social networking is incredibly heavily used. Data center, as the computing services supplier, is skyrocketing and exploding. Many researches have paid attention to the power consumption and carbon emission. Embarrassingly few of the existing studies focused on the water usage of the data center, despite of the enormity. Large data center operators should make significant strides in slashing the water usage. In this paper, a stochastic resource planning scheme is proposed to minimize the total cost for the microgrid considering the uncertainties of the renewables, wholesale electricity price and the power load. The results of the numerical case show the effectiveness of this model.
