A New Type of UHVDC Converter Valve Operating Synthetic Test Circuit

Building energy Internet and speeding up interconnection of power grids has gained wide attention and recognition. UHV is the most advanced transmission technology in the world, and it is the core and key of building energy Internet. UHV converter valve is the core device of UHVDC transmission project and its capacity is very large. In order to reduce the test capacity, the synthetic test method is a suitable choice in the operating test of the converter valve. In order to satisfy the requirement of operating test, the voltage/current waveform on both ends of the test valve must be reproduced correctly to improve the equivalence of the test. Considering the existing synthetic test circuit can not fully take into account the equivalence of each test item, a new synthetic test circuit is presented in this paper, which can correctly reproduce the voltage and current waveform of the actual operating of the converter valve, especially the low voltage operation test part, and greatly improve the equivalence of the operating test. Through the simulation of power system simulation software, it is proved that the design of the new synthetic test circuit is feasible and can provide reference for the development of the UHV converter valve operating test device.
