Modeling and Control of a Novel Buck Inverter with Application to Inductive Wireless Power Transmission

In this article we present the model and closed loop control design for a novel proposal of a DC-AC converter based on the basic Buck topology, here called `Buck Inverter'. Due to the susceptibility of power converters to uncertainty that may be present in their design, it is necessary to implement a control strategy to counteract said uncertainties. The design of a closed loop controller requires inside knowledge of the dynamic characteristics of the system to be controlled; thus, it is necessary firstly to model and simulate the converter proposed. After model validation, a PID controller was simulated assuming linear properties for the system. For model and controller validation, comparative graphs are shown, using the system model via Simulink and electronic schematic capture via LTSPICE.
