Development of Actuator For Spacecraft Docking Devices

The paper presents a developed structural scheme for an electromechanical actuator of spacecraft docking devices. Such design will provide for minimum weight and dimensions parameters of the system at its maximum reliability due to the application of the following: torque dual-speed motor, electromechanical controllable damper operated under low rotation frequencies, as well as the application of an actuator three-circuit follow-up system ensuring the fastest response time. The paper also presents a mock-up specimen of the electromechanical actuator for docking devices manufactured according to the proposed technical solution. The presented electromechanical actuator will make it possible to obtain increased accuracy and reliability of the work of the docking devices of space vehicles due to reliable and easy software control. One of the main ways to modernize the actuator is to reduce the mass, by creating more energy efficient electromechanical dampers.
