Carrier Amplitude Control for Neutral Point Balancing in a Multilevel Active Voltage Rectifier

Article deals with a neutral point balancing in a multilevel active voltage rectifier. An algorithmic capacitor voltage disbalance compensation method is proposed for multilevel neutral point clamped converter of multi-engine system with a common DC-link. Simulation of the system with unbalanced load of converter levels with and without compensation was performed which showed the absence of the capacitors voltage disbalance in system with proposed capacitors voltage disbalance regulator. The analysis of power quality factors provided allows to conclude that the system meets the requirements of the existing standards to the emission of harmonic components of phase currents and provides power factor correction.
