UWSNs-based Distributed Trespasser Tracking System for a Fish Farn

This paper deals with the problem of tracking a single trespasser on a fish farm moving through Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks(UWSNs) by employing underwater acoustic sensors. This paper addresses the issues of estimating the states of a trespasser, and improving energy efficiency by applying the Kalman filter in distributed architecture. Each underwater wireless sensor node composing the UWSNs is battery-powered, so the energy conservation problem is a critical issue. This paper provides an algorithm that increases the energy efficiency of each sensor node through Waked-up/Sleeping(WuS) sensor node selecting schemes. Simulation results illustrate the performance of the distributed tracking filter for a fish farm trespasser.
