A necessary condition for the realization of a resistive n-port based on network size and on the concept of weighted terminal valency

The insolvability of the resistive n-port problem after five decades of persistent but unsuccessful attempts by the most ingenious network theorists suggests that some concepts may have been overlooked in previous considerations of the positive resistance network class.
