A printed 4×4 MIMO antenna with high isolation for WLAN application

In this paper, a low profile printed four port MIMO antenna has been proposed. Four closely placed rectangular ring-shaped monopoles have been considered as radiating elements here. High isolation between the radiators has been achieved by connecting metallic strips between the feed lines of the adjacent radiating elements and one rectangular slot on the ground plane between radiators. The 10 dB impedance bandwidth of the antenna occupies the WLAN band within 5.65–6.05GHz with a maximum isolation greater than 30dB. A Peak gain of 3.5dB has been observed at the operating band. To further realize the diversity performances, essential matrices such as TARC, ECC, diversity gain and CCL have been evaluated.
