Antenna measurement based on very near field scanning

This paper points out that the measurement based on Very near field scanning is a advisable choice to improve the test speed and reduce the cost of testing for the huge test workload of the future 5G antenna. Several very near field test results can be combined together to form a large synthetic test surface, and larger antennas can be measured. Measurement experiments show that using plastic cart to support the antenna away from the ground, is more accurate than measuring the antenna near ground. The gain measurement accuracy is within 1 dB. 3dB beam width measurement results are generally accurate. Compared with the reference value, the first side lobe suppression parameter measurement results are small, the error can reach 5dB ∼ 10dB. Further research will be carried out using ancillary automatic mechanical devices.
