Design of a metasurface covered slotted waveguide antenna

Slotted waveguides antennas can benefit from the use of a metasurface cover, so that the E-Plane cut of the radiation pattern narrows and the directivity increases. Based on this principle, this paper discusses the design of a metasurface covered slotted waveguide antenna. The impact of the metasurface on the slot properties is analyzed. Finally an example of a Taylor distribution design is given, showing the improvements in gain.
