Influence of Induction Motor Starting on Microgrid

As the application of induction motors is more and more extensive in microgrid, it is very important to research the influence of induction motor on microgrid. A microgrid model with different distributed generations (DGs) is established in this paper. And the mathematical model of the induction motor is also presented. With the example system, the induction motor starting process is simulated in the grid-connected and islanded modes. The simulation results show the effect of induction motor starting on the transient stability of the microgrid in different modes. The specific dynamic characteristics of important parameters such as power and voltage will be changed with the induction motor starting.
