Hydraulic Experiment on Profile Optimization of Surface Buoy in On-Demand Observation System for Tsunami and Ocean Bottom Crustal Deformation

In this research, a hydraulic experiment was carried out in order to optimally shape the surface buoy. In the hydraulic experiment, a rectangular flume was used, and the floating structure of the surface buoy and the shape of the lower structure were changed. The fluid force acting on the surface buoy was measured with a force transducer and its drag coefficient was evaluated. As the result by this experiment, it was found that the float structure has a two-dimensional dear droplet shape, and the lower structure has a surface buoy shape in which the three-dimensional dear droplet shape is optimum.
