6 Jobs and Skills in a World of Smart Machines

Most of the predictions and accounts of the job impacts of AI have focused on the bad news. Millions of jobs can be automated, these accounts suggest. Those at the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum have the most to fear. Evil bosses will substitute machines for labor without a second thought. Unless a minimum basic income is established, inequality will grow until there are riots in the streets. Even if some new jobs are created, there won't be enough to avoid social and economic dislocation.
