Improved Synchronization and Voltage Regulation of DFIG based Wind Energy System (WES)

This paper proposes the control scheme for improving synchronization of WES connected to grid or microgrid without PLL. The proposed control scheme is based on droop control to obtain proper voltage regulation and frequency control under weak grid or micro-grid environment. The transient and dynamic response is also improved with proposed control scheme as compared to conventional control scheme. DFIG based WES is modelled in MATLAB SIMULINK to implement the proposed control scheme. The Simulation results are discussed to validate the improvement in power quality and Synchronization of DFIG based WES with Proposed control. The results are also compared with conventional control scheme to demonstrate the effectiveness.
