Fault Tolerance in a Hardware Efficient Parallel FIR Filter

Finite Impulse response filter is one of the fundamental devices in all digital processing system. Nowadays area efficient parallel FIR filter is most preferred in digital signal processing systems. In this research paper, such a filter is designed using carry select adder. For the reliable operation of filter, it must be protected. Filter protection is done using fault tolerant methods. Here the filtering effect of digital filter is analyzed by single error correction code. The experimental results show that the FIR filter designed is effective.
