Islanding Phenomena In Microgrid based on PV Generation

The paper presents the comparative study of grid connected Photovoltaic system during its parallel operation with main grid and its autonomous operation as an electric island. The irradiation condition of PV as a function of time is varied to study the power fluctuation arising in the PV array. The main grid is disconnected intentionally at a time being to show the load profile following the characteristics of PV power. The behavior of grid connected PV system is analyzed during its pre-islanding condition and at the instant of formation of islands. The system is modelled in MATLAB and the results are analyzed to study the exact voltage variations occurring on load side due to islanding of the system.
