Analysis Modelling & Simulation of VSC based D-Statcom for Reactive VAR Compensation

objective of this paper is to compensate the reactive power in transmission line using proposed PI control technique in the D-statcom. D-Statcom is basically shunt compensator device used for lagging and leading reactive power compensation. Here D-statcom in two level inverter. In this paper design and implementation of D-statcom VSC based are done and compared the result under different loading condition with controller and without controller. The control technique used for VSC is SPWM. Now a days FACTS devices are very useful for the compensation and control of reactive power in transmission and distribution power system network. This will improve the stability of system under faulty condition and under varying condition so that problem of Ferranti effect during low load condition and low voltage at the terminal end during high load condition can be mitigate using proper FACTS devices and improved control technique in the compensating devices.
