Improved Inverter Control for DFIG Based WES Connected to Weak Grid

The control scheme is proposed for inverter control to improve the synchronization and power quality of the wind energy system (WES) connected to the weak grid without phase locked loop (PLL). Droop based control scheme is proposed to obtain the improved performance under different operating conditions. In this paper, the proposed control scheme is designed and implemented for the WES to improve the dynamic and transient response. The DFIG based WES is modeled in MATLAB SIMULINK to validate the improvement in power quality and synchronization of DFIG based WES with proposed control scheme. The results are also discussed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
