Fast two step sequential process for large-scale high-performance perovskite solar cells

We propose a fast, simple process for preparation of a high quality perovskite film suitable for large-area fabrication. Mediator extraction treatment (MET) achieved a uniform coating of PbI₂-DMSO complex film and subsequent morphological and orientational changes in the PbI₂ layer. PbI₂ layers could be completely converted into MAPbI₃ film by a fast reaction with MAI. We demonstrated this MET process in MAPbI₃-based PSCs at a lab-scale to achieve 18.8% of the maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) using spin-coating, and 18.3% maximum PCE using slot-die coating for unit cells.
