Using PV and Thermal Energy Storage to Decrease Carbon Dioxide Emissions

By utilizing their existing thermal energy storage (TES) system, Arizona State University (ASU) can significantly increase the amount of solar PV they are using. With a change in the TES management scheme, significant increases in PV are enabled, which leads to drastic decreases in carbon dioxide emissions, helping them to meet their goal of becoming a zero-carbon emission institution.
