Investigation of Nanopyramids coatings on Perovskite Solar Cell for Performance Enhancement

Light trapping technique using textured surfaces is one of the effective ways in reducing reflections and enhancing solar cell performance. However, surface texturing and coating has not been investigated extensively for perovskite solar cells. The present work looks into the possibility of applying submicron nanopyramids on the commercially available FTO substrates and then build the perovskite solar cell to determine the effect of nanoimprinted sub-micron pyramids on the cell performance. The illuminated IV result of Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) show an increase of 12% in efficiency with backward sweep. An improvement in film absorbance has been determined via uv vis spectrometry. The imprinted coating can also serve as self-cleaning protective surface due to the more hydrophobic characteristics of the substrate surface. The durability of the pyramids have also been tested via elevated temperature and sticky tape tests.
