The Novel Center-End-Fed Dipole-Like Antenna

The modified waveguide-fed dipole-like aerial is presented and analyzed by the method of induced electromotive forces. To excite the arms of an aerial the two equivalent-magnitude and in-phase excitations are created by using the standard circular waveguide. Since the area around the radiating arms is free of any conductors (with exception of an infinite ground plane), the proposed aerial is characterized by high polarization purity of radiation. Such a radiator may be used as the building block in the manufacturing of any arrays as well as for the radar mounted on a small missile warhead. The proposed aerial is also a suitable candidate for mobile communication systems.
