Metrological Assistance of Multiport Vector Network Analyzers for Microwave Measurements

The paper presents a method for verifying a vector network analyzer with an arbitrary number of measuring channels in order to determine the main metrological characteristics: measurement errors of complex transformation and reflection coefficients. Basic problems of metrological assistance of vector network analyzers and its models with 8-, 10- and 12 parameters are considered. The development of a parametric model for multi-port vector network analyzer based on a 12-parameter model is performed. The process of calibration and error definition for the Rohde & Schwarz ZVA 24 is considered.
