The Functionally-Imperative Programming Language El and its Translator

This paper contains the main distinctive features of the new functionally-imperative programming language El and the description of the translator being developed for this language. El language is characterized by cleanliness user-defined functions, the lack of global variables, the lack of transactions of the explicit capture / release of memory and garbage collection, the ability to use both mutable and immutable variables the programmer chooses, the ability to determine the types of variables, both statically and dynamically, availability and primitive and high-level compound data types, which include UNICODE strings, one-connected and bi-connected lists, tuples, binaries, jagged and rectangular vectors. It is possible to perform operations on entire vectors, special types of index expressions - index references - can be implemented when processing vectors. Function may by overloading not only by name, but also by their signatures, it is possible to define and use anonymous functions and higher-order functions. The problem of creating a multiplatform system for compiling El programs for Linux and Windows is considered. Questions of the organization of execution of the compiled programs are considered. The composition, structure and algorithms of functioning of the executing system - a set consisting of a source code translator into the language of the assembler of the LLVM compiler infrastructure and the runtime library are described. Some features of the lexical, syntactic and semantic analyzer of the translator are considered. Describes some data structures used for translation that represent objects of the compiled program and algorithms for generating an internal pseudo-code and converting it into an object code. The current state of the translator development process for the El language is described.
