Efficient Energy Improvement in Heterogeneous WSNs using Multilevel Network Modeling

In this paper, a heterogeneous networking model is proposed, which is characterized basedon two parameters, namely primary and secondary. The former one decides the heterogeneity level and latter one decides based on the heterogeneity level. Such model describes the heterogeneous network, where a node has finite energy level based on the value of parameters. HEED protocol is evaluated and the multi-level HEED protocol is also tested further. For finite heterogeneity level, multi-level HEED or MLHEED-n uses Secondary parameter decides the total nodes at each heterogeneity level. The proposed protocol has two parameters, which helps in finding theresidual energy of cluster heads and node density. The proposed protocol is tested over six level network. It is seen that the dissipation of energy reduces and it leads to increased network life.
