Balanced Housing as the Implementation of the Principle of Inclusivity

This paper reviews some literature on inclusivity in urban environments. Based on literature studies from several previous authors, it can be concluded that we can assess inclusivity based on affordability and accessibility. In this paper, the authors emphasize finding a good method for assessing accessibility. The urban population is now more and more polarized into the pockets of the rich and the destitute. The rich have better access than the people below. In Indonesia, there is a balanced housing rule that has a philosophy to maintain a social harmony within a community through a coexistence of people from different social strata who live in in the same environment. So, this paper is held to see how accessibility in fulfilling the principle of inclusivity with balanced housing regulations, especially for low-income people.
