The Internet business model engineering has evolved for more than 2 decades. The global mega-service companies and emerging business models of IoT are two major business model trends. The author presents a retrospective view model of Internet business models. Then, the author discusses a shift from monolithic digitization to compound digitization. The driving forces and functions of compound digitization are discussed. Finally, the author presents a dimensional view model that provides a perspective to position multiple possible impacts of compound digitization on digital business landscapes.
