A Medical-IoT based Framework for eHealth Care

Technological advancements in the medical domains have attracted industry and academia across the globe. Due to the incredible revolution in the wearable devices and communication techniques, it offers efficient and economical real-time health monitoring facilities. Internet of medical things (IoMT) is one of the convenient means to organize, monitor and manage the healthcare applications. Due to the tiny and resource-constrained nature of the medical devices in IoMT, it is very significant to cope-up with the huge energy drain issues. Thus, we propose an energy efficient ON-OFF algorithm (EEOOA) for medical data transmission between the source and destination nodes in medical systems. Moreover, in this study, IoMT based framework is also developed for eHealth care. Besides, the proposed algorithm is compared with the Baseline in terms of the energy saving. Experimental results reveal that proposed EEOOA is more energy efficient than the traditional approaches in IoMT.
