Receiver Circuit Design for Signal Conditioning in Magnetic Induction Tomography System

This paper explains the design of analog receiver circuit of Magnetic Induction Tomography (MIT) system. MIT is a relatively new and cheap tomography technique that offers unique features. The signal conditioning module is made to process signal from the 8-coils MIT sensor which detects metal objects. The voltage levels received at the sensor will become the input for the circuit, and the output has to match with the input specification of digital back-end. The input of subsequent stages must be in form of a clean DC signal containing information of amplitude of the receiver coil's voltage. The combination of circuitry suits receiver sensor characteristics and would satisfy MIT system requirement for both material (low frequency) and biological (high frequency up to 5 MHz) applications.
