Synthesis and fluorescence studies of 14H-dibenzo[a, j] xanthene substituted 2H-l-benzopyran-2-one

In this study, 14H-dibenzo[a, j]xanthenes-14-yl-coumarins have been synthesized from substituted 4-formyl coumarins and β-naphthol and characterized on the basis of spectral data. The physiological properties of the isolated compounds have been studied. The emission spectra of 14H-dibenzo[a, j]xanthenes-14-yl-coumarins showed maximum stokes shift of 99 nm.
