A Novel Microstrip Implantable Antenna at ISM Band

This paper presents a novel implantable antenna working at ISM band. The antenna is fed with microstrip connected with an irregular polygon located at an edge of the feeding layer. The proposed antenna has a small size of 18,mm×9mm×0.8mm, The simulated bandwidth of the proposed antenna in single-layered body phantom filled with muscle is 1.6-2.7 GHz. Simulation shows that the proposed antenna keep wide bandwidth covering ISM band in different tissues of muscle, stomach, and small intestine, respectively.
