Reduced Capacitance Approach for 1-Ph. 4-Switch Rectifier

Reduced capacitance approach is used for single phase four switch rectifier in this paper. This rectifier consist two types of conventional leg, one is neutral leg and the other one is rectification leg with two capacitors which are responsible for splitting the dc-bus voltage. Ripple energy diverted towards lower capacitor to reduce few ripple of voltage across upper capacitor which is dc output voltage. Voltage across the lower capacitor needed film capacitors in place of bulky electrolytic capacitors.
