Advance Speed Control Technique of Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor Drive Using MATLAB Simulation and FPGA Controller

This paper presents Advance speed control technique of PMBLDC motor drive using MATLAB/ Simulink and FPGA controller. The operation of PMBLDC motor needs the rotor position sensing. Voltage and Current signals are used to estimate the rotor position. Back EMF Zero Crossing Detection (ZCD) is used to achieve the sensorless speed control of PMBLDC motor. The MATLAB/ Simulink are used to model the complete drive system by using back emf detection method to control the speed. Also other technique of speed control by FPGA controller using hardware setup is adopted. As it is cost effective and size reduction efficient method, hence more preferred.
