Saturation Behavior of Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifier in Presence of Dispersion Fluctuations

The impact of random dispersion fluctuations on the saturation behavior of fiber optical parametric amplifier was investigated. The coupled amplitude equations which represents the parametric amplification process were solved numerically. The saturation behavior was analyzed with variation of dispersion fluctuations amplitudes. It is found that the parametric gain with low fluctuations amplitude saturates quicker than that with high amplitude. This analysis is beneficial in understanding the evolution of the pump and signal power in the small and saturated regimes of parametric amplifiers.
