Analysis on Transition Waveform Control for High-Speed Twin-Wire Pulse MIG Welding Based on Sine-Wave Modulation

In order to reduce the influence of twin-wire electromagnetic interference and improve the welding efficiency, a new method for controlling the transition waveform of high-speed twin-wire welding is proposed on the basis of the sine wave modulation pulse. The twin-wire welding process evaluation method was used to evaluate the welding speed, welding quality and transition phase control test by orthogonal test. Through the analysis of the weld appearance, the distribution of current density, the metallographic analysis and the Rockwell hardness test, the results show that after the transition current waveform was added, the welding speed is better than that of the conventional twin-wire pulsed MIG welding, and the quality of the weld is better in the process performance evaluation and the metallographic analysis.
