Regression Analysis in Estimating Gas Usage

In Northwestern China, gas pipeline could be very vulnerable in winter, which brings high risk to local gas transportation. To keep the internal pressure of gas pipes under control, the key point of maintaining pipelines is to estimate the gas demand of a certain period. Our work carries out a practical project for a community in Xining, Qinghai. We model the gas usage with everyday temperatures and user scales via regression analysis, compare the different models, and find a most satisfying one.
