A Dual Band on Body Monopole Antenna for WiMAX and X-Band Applications

A compact dual-band on body unique monopole antenna having the slotted ground structure with a desired dual band is offered. It is operating on a dual-band range from 3GHz to 4.5GHz under the coverage of WiMAX range(3.3-3.6GHz) with a Bandwidth efficiency of 42% and from 8GHz-12GHz with a Bandwidth efficiency of 40 %. The prototype of proposed antenna which has used FR-4 dielectric material as the substrate which has a very small and compact configuration as 0.22AxO.26AxO.016A (where λ is the wavelength of the lowest operating frequency of the antenna.) The antenna proposed has successfully implemented on the body which has given a very fine impedance matching with dual passbands. The SAR, specific absorption rate is also under desired range in both the pass bands. The proposed design can be availed for broadband communicational services plus for satellite communication purposes and military applications.
