Network Structured Based Routing Techniques in Wireless Sensor Network

Wireless Sensor Network made up of a group of sensor nodes working together to sense the environment, communicate over a small distance using wireless channel and perform simple data processing. These sensor nodes are basically small in size, battery power, less cost and installed randomly. WSN has many important applications in military, environmental monitoring and target tracking. To minimize energy utilization and enhancing the network life time for WSNs, many routing protocols have been proposed in last decade. In this survey the routing protocols are categorised into four major types: Network Structure, Communication Model, Topology Based and Reliable Routing. Our main focus to describe the Network Structure type which is frequently uses in wireless sensor network. It is classify into Flat and Hierarchical scheme. Flat scheme is used for node deploys at same level and Hierarchical scheme is used for node deploys on more than two levels. Finally all routing protocols compares on the basis of different routing metrics.
