Evaluation of Efficient Laser Plasma Acceleration Driven by a Relativistic Mid-inFrared Laser Field

We evaluate the feasibility of an efficient laser plasma acceleration driven by an intense mid-infrared pulse. The driving wavelength of 1.5 μm with a relativistic-laser-intensity (a0 = 2) can improve the number of accelerated electrons as an order of magnitude, compared with that driven by the same intensity of Ti:sapphire laser.
