Analysis of Railway Traction Power System Using Renewable Energy: A Review

This paper is a study on advantages and limitations of the developed system of Traction Power Supply System (TPSS). In India electric traction system based on DC Locomotive motor drives and supplied by 25 KV. Electric traction system mostly concern very high power and high voltage, and just because of that, power quality is the main issue or main concern. Steadily increasing demand of electricity is the main reason for the use of combined or hybrid networks. Slender accessibility of non-renewable source and contamination due to conventional source lead to use of renewable energy source as their substitute. In this paper wind energy used as a renewable energy source which is meshed with the grid and grid network sent power to locomotives of traction line connected by their substation.
