The practice in microelectronics: a mandatory complement of the online courses in the context of digital society

The up-coming of the digital society linked to the huge development of computer sciences, and communications thanks to the microelectronics performances, is able to change many societal behaviors and the pedagogical approach. If the classical lectures face-to-face seems less attractive to give the knowledge, the new tools are not enough performing to provide a know-how more especially in engineering. This paper deals with the need of know-how to form engineers and technicians in the field of microelectronics. This know-how is complementary of the knowledge and must be organized on shared platforms. This article deals with a presentation of the context of the digital society, the evolution of the field of microelectronics, the organization of shared platforms as part of a national network in France. Finally, several innovative practices adapted to the context of the digital society are described and discussed.
