Experimental Binary Optimization of Resonant Dipole Antennas for Remote Sensing Below 2THz

Operational remote sensing in the terahertz region is possible only in discrete atmospheric “windows”, without the strong water vapour absorption. To increase the signal-to-noise ratio and detection sensitivity, we design and test a selection of resonant antennas, tuned to the water vapour transmission windows in the region below 2THz. The outcome is a transparent optimisation of antennas for remote sensing.
