Calculating Power Losses In LV Cables Loaded With Nonsinusoidal Currents

Harmonic currents in power cables cause additional power losses associated with phenomena that increase the temperature of the cable insulation and make its service life shorter. For these reasons, it is important to choose methods for determining active power losses, which ensure adequate computational accuracy. This paper compares the methods for determining active power losses on the example of a low voltage cable line supplying a non-linear load.
