Multipactor Characterization of Ferrite Materials for Space Applications

The objective of this work is to report on the design, manufacture and test of a new family of waveguide components for the characterisation of the high power Radio Frequency behaviour of ferrite materials. Specially designed wide-band, low-pass filter structure has been optimized to include ferrite samples in high electric field regions. The work has been carried out in the context of a present European Space Agency (ESA) project to study the multipactor behaviour of ferrite materials widely used in space applications.
