Multi-Excitation Simulation of Half-Space Scattering Using Characteristic Mode Theory

Characteristic mode theory (CMT) has been extended for multi-excitation simulation of half-space scattering problems in this paper. The well-known mixed-potential integral equation (MPIE) is introduced firstly to creating the impedance matrix efficiently. To analyze the mutual interactions between each characteristic mode (CM) and external excitation, a criterion has been recommended in our analysis. Numerical examples have been presented to demonstrate the feasibility of application of CMT in multi-excitation scattering problems.
