Helicopter power operation will promote the transformation of China's power grid development

Due to the inverse distribution of the energy source and the electricity load, the Chinese power grid adopts the way of long-distance and trans-regional UHV (Ultra High Voltage) power transmission, which has the advantage of high-capacity transmission. However, the trans-regional UHV power transmission brings several difficult problems, such as the heavy weight and huge size of the transmission tower, the tight schedule and heavy task of construction projects, thousands miles of power line in the area of complicated climate and landform. The power line construction and maintenance using helicopter has obtained a good effect. Combined with foreign mature experience and domestic condition in the field of helicopter power operation, China has overcome many difficulties and explored a road of independent innovation, which we think is the only way leading to the sustainable development of China's power grid. In this thesis, we give a detail introduction of domestic core technology of power operation using helicopter which includes helicopter refined inspection, hot-line work, electric power construction, basic knowledge and equipment of airborne laser scanning and so on. We also give some suggestions on helicopter power operation in the future.
