Analysis and Research on a New Data Link MAC Protocol

For the problem with degraded performance when system channels are overloaded, in order to keep the channel load at a stable level and improve the communication quality of high-priority services, a new type of data link MAC protocol (SPMA protocol) is studied. Firstly, the operating mechanism and characteristics of the SPMA protocol are described. Then, according to the characteristics of the SPMA protocol, its key technologies are studied and analyzed. Finally, the SPMA protocol model is established and simulated based on the OPNET. Simulation result shows that in the SPMA protocol-based network system, the system throughput can be kept stable and the QoS quality of high-priority services can also be guaranteed.
